Covenant Bank is excited to join C&N, a team who shares our passion for providing customers with unparalleled service.
Merging with C&N will provide us with even more resources to deliver you with modern banking conveniences that will make your banking life easier.
We are committed to keeping the lines of communication open and making any changes as seamless and painless as possible for you. In this section, we address some of the most common questions we’ve heard from our customers. Many more questions will be answered over the next several months as we work to bring together these two teams.
Q. Who is C&N?
A: Citizens & Northern Corporation is the bank holding company for C&N, headquartered in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. Established in 1864, C&N operates 27 banking offices located in Bradford, Bucks, Cameron, Lycoming, McKean, Potter, Sullivan and Tioga Counties in Pennsylvania and Steuben County in New York, as well as loan production offices in Elmira, New York and York and Warminster, Pennsylvania. To learn more about C&N, please visit their website at www.cnbankpa.com.
Q. When will the merger be complete?
A: The actual transaction is expected to close in July 2020. The systems conversion is expected to take place in late August 2020.
Q: What will Covenant Bank be called after the merger?
A: Covenant will assume the C&N name and branding.
Q: When can I expect to receive more specifics about my accounts and online banking changing to C&N?
A: You will receive a comprehensive informational welcome book this summer that will explain what you need to know and anything you might need to do during this transition.
Q. Will my deposits be FDIC-insured after the conversion?
A. Yes, C&N is a federally insured institution. Deposits are insured up to $250,000 per depositor, per FDIC-insured bank, per ownership category. For more detailed information, please visit the FDIC's FAQ's here.
Q. What does this mean for me and my banking experience?
A. Covenant Bank offices are open and will continue to operate as usual. This merger, unlike many you read about, is not about shrinking or consolidation. Instead, it’s about growth and positioning the Bank to serve you even better well into the future.
Q: When will I officially become a C&N customer?
A: Covenant Bank is projected to legally become C&N in July. We expect to convert customer accounts on the weekend of August 21st
Q: Is there anything I need to do right now?
A: No. We will continue to share information as it becomes available and keep you informed by way of mail, email, and our website. You can expect to receive a comprehensive Welcome Book in July that will include the details you’ll need and information about how the transition will benefit you.
Q: Will my account numbers change?
A: No. We’ve recently determined that there are no duplicate account numbers across both banks’ systems, so there will be no need to change account numbers, which is great news!
